Improving Functionality: The Kondor Blue Adjustable 501 Baseplate
We've taken our 501 Baseplate back to the drawing board to give it a complete overhaul and incorporate much-needed functionality. At the top of our list was ensuring that our camera cages would have an 85mm sensor to rail center offset for matte box compatibility.

Most height-adjustable baseplate options start off too tall, negating the need for vertical height adjustment. Additionally, they tend to loosen and wobble or slip during a shoot. We addressed this issue by machining precise 1mm adjustments with corresponding laser engravings, making it easier to dial in the baseplate height and achieve accuracy. We even provide a guide for each cage we offer, which informs you of the exact position your baseplate should be set to.

Our 15mm rail clamps have been improved to have over double the clamping force without causing damage to your rails. The M4 ratchet knobs are also captive, ensuring you won't lose them. Whether you use the 501 Drop-in Plate or mount directly to the Baseplate Riser Block, you can mount multiple bolts to any camera cage to prevent twisting. Swapping out mounting options is easy with slotted access from the underside of the baseplate.

We offer multiple tripod mounting solutions. You can mount tripod plates directly to the base with 3/8” and 1/4” helicoil mounting holes or use the built-in dovetail clamp, which pairs perfectly with our Lightweight Dovetail Plates.
