Experience the Iconic Sound of Tom Oberheim's Seminal Analogue Synthesizer with the Arturia SEM Classic Synth Filter Plug-In
Tom Oberheim's seminal design, among the first ever self-contained analogue synthesizers, housed one of the most popular filters of all time. Now, Filter SEM, a cutting-edge creative plugin for your DAW with a host of new features, allows you to experience this classic sound.
Filter SEM is a futuristic take on a classic synth filter, combining simplicity with pure tone-shaping power. We paid tribute to the pioneering technology of the 70s and the SEM's reputation as a trailblazer by using meticulous modelling techniques and adding exciting new features, resulting in a true modern classic audio filter.
With Filter SEM, you can now use Tom Oberheim's cult synth module's era-defining filter tone on any audio source you desire. Whether you want to process acoustic instruments in your DAW, shape vocals, perform sweeps on your entire mix, or create builds, rises, and drops, this plugin is the perfect creative tool for any modern musician.
The original SEM, or Synthesizer Expander Module, was one of the world's first all-in-one synth packages. It was created to expand the capabilities of other synths, adding polyphony, fattening up their sound, and performing sequences in a supporting role to a main synth.
One of the most remarkable modules on the SEM was its VCF, a 12dB per octave multi-mode filter that helped define the sonic identity of Oberheim's popular 70s synth, shaping a diverse range of sounds almost impossible to get on other synthesizers. Filter SEM carefully models the crossfadable modes of the filter - low-pass, high-pass, notch and band-pass - and expands its functionality and features to create a versatile filter plugin that you'll want to use on every track you create.
