The Shogun Classic consolidates a broadcast-grade field monitor, a multi-format 4K recorder, and a four-input live switcher into one portable unit ā replacing three separate devices on your rig or production cart. It records up to DCI 4K at 60fps in Apple ProRes or Avid DNx directly to SSD, with a 3000 nit display bright enough for outdoor monitoring in any conditions.
The problem it solves: Managing a multi-camera live shoot with separate monitors, recorders, and switchers is expensive, heavy, and complex. The Shogun Classic replaces all three ā record ISOs, switch live, and monitor in HDR from a single device you can hold in one hand.

What is the maximum recording resolution and frame rate?
The Shogun Classic records up to DCI 4K at 60fps and UHD 4K at 60fps via both HDMI and SDI. It also supports 2K DCI up to 60fps via SDI, 1080p up to 120fps via SDI, and 720p up to 60fps.
Can the Shogun Classic be used as a multi-camera switcher?
Yes. The Shogun Classic accepts four SDI inputs and functions as a compact live switcher. It records up to four simultaneous 1080p60 ISO streams plus a fifth switched program channel. Asynchronous switching means your sources do not need to be genlocked, so you can mix cameras freely without additional sync equipment.
What media does the Shogun Classic record to?
The unit supports Master Caddy II, Master Caddy III, and SSDmini drives via a SATA 3.0 interface formatted in exFAT. Note that Master Caddy I is not supported. SSD media is not included and must be purchased separately.

The Shogun Classic works with any camera outputting HDMI 2.0 or SDI signals. It has dedicated log format support for cameras from ARRI, RED, Sony, Canon, Panasonic, Fujifilm, Nikon, and JVC, covering major log profiles including S-Log3, ARRI LogC, RED Log3G10, Canon C-Log3, and Panasonic V-Log.
How is the Shogun Classic powered?
It accepts DC input from 6.2V to 16.8V and is compatible with two NP-F / L-Series batteries simultaneously. A 12V 3A AC power supply is included in the box for studio or desktop use.
Does the Shogun Classic support HDR monitoring?
Yes. The 3000 nit Full-Array Local Dimming display supports HDR monitoring in HLG and PQ formats. It can convert camera log signals to HDR output in real time over HDMI, and supports AtomHDR with auto-detection on both HDMI input and output.
