Description

Introducing the Arturia M12 Analog Polysynth Filter Plug-In: A Plugin that Puts the Legendary Analog Polysynth's Filter to Shame

Looking for a filter that can offer depth, character, and complexity? Look no further than the M12-Filter – a modern, powerful plugin that is a recreation of the multi-mode filter found in Oberheim®’s iconic Matrix-12. This plugin is equipped with exciting updates that make it one of the most versatile, performable sound-shaping tools available.

Boasting gorgeous-sounding modeled analog filter tone control, programmable modulation envelopes, a detailed mod matrix, and bonus random and mod osc parameters, Filter M12 is the go-to choice for creative frequency control. It can help you achieve anything from smooth sweeps to rhythmic motion, and even full-blown, randomized glitch meltdowns.

The M12-Filter is a re-energized creative plugin for your DAW that stands out as the most advanced, adaptable filter of its time. The original synthesizer's filter was developed by audio and electronics legend Tom Oberheim in 1984. It was a groundbreaking subtractive, analog polyphonic synthesizer that stood the test of time and has become a classic. The modelled version of this filter can be found in V Collection.

The filter of the original synthesizer employed a single filter per voice with no fewer than 15 different filter modes. This included low pass and three high-pass modes, two band-pass modes, a notch filter, and a phase shift mode. It also included another four modes, combining 1-pole low pass filters with other modes. This unique selection of filter options is mostly responsible for the immense power and scope of the fabled Matrix sound.

Key Features

  • The Matrix 12 multimode filter has been virtually recreated.
  • The plugin instance allows for the use of two Matrix 12 filters simultaneously.
  • Each filter instance offers 15 distinct filter modes to choose from.
  • There are individual controls for cutoff frequency, resonance, pan, and output volume for each instance.
  • A master cutoff control is available to control the cutoff of both instances simultaneously.
  • There are four audio routing configurations to choose from.
  • The plugin also includes global dry/wet and output filter controls.
  • The random values generator can be synchronized with the DAW's clock.
  • There are three advanced multi-segment envelopes, which can be set to loop or triggered by audio.
  • The envelopes can be used as LFOs, step sequencers, or traditional envelopes and come with predefined presets.
  • The modulation oscillator serves as an audio range modulation source for frequency modulation of parameters and offers five waveforms.
  • The modulation matrix includes envelope, random generator, and modulation oscillator as sources and provides eight assignable destination slots with 22 reachable parameters.
  • The plugin comes with 40 presets created by top sound designers.
  • It utilizes state-of-the-art TAE® analog modeling technology.
