The Audio-Technica AT33MONO is a dual moving coil phono cartridge designed specifically for mono vinyl records. Mono LPs carry their information laterally in the groove, and a dedicated mono cartridge like the AT33MONO reads exactly that — rewarding collectors of 1950s and '60s jazz, classical, and early rock pressings with quieter, more focused, more solid playback than a stereo cartridge can provide.

The AT33MONO plays microgroove 33-1/3 and 45 RPM vinyl records (it is not compatible with SP shellac 78s). Its 0.65 mil conical stylus rides on a hard duralumin cantilever, while Hanenite anti-vibration, high-damping rubber in the housing interior and at the cantilever fulcrum eliminates unnecessary vibrations before they color the sound. The result is the smooth, dense, dynamic presentation that has made the AT33 moving coil series a long-running favorite.
