The ISO9VOLTH kit comes with a customized battery door that is compatible with all Lectrosonics UH type plug-on transmitters. This battery door is specifically designed to accommodate the use of external power sources, allowing the wireless transmitters to be operated without relying on traditional 9 volt batteries. By converting 10 to 18 volt DC to regulated 9 volt DC, the transmitter can be powered through the battery terminals inside the battery compartment. The modified door not only exposes the connector for the external power source but also remains fully functional with regular dry cell batteries. Additionally, the unit is equipped to supply up to 200 mA, making it suitable for use with 250 mW transmitters. It is important to note that the battery eliminator is fused and protected from reverse polarity, ensuring safe and reliable operation.

One of the key features of the ISO9VOLT battery eliminator is its unique design that effectively isolates the power ground from the audio ground within the transmitter. This design is particularly beneficial when using the unit in "bag systems" commonly found in field production setups. In such systems, where the mixer, receivers, and wireless transmitters are powered by a shared battery, a ground loop can often be created, resulting in high frequency noise or interference in the audio signal. However, with the ISO9VOLT battery eliminator, this issue is mitigated. The external DC power is first passed through a low drop out 12 volt regulator, then through a DC/DC converter that generates an 800kHz square wave. This square wave is then transformed, rectified, and finally regulated to produce the desired 9 volt DC power that is presented on the battery contacts.
