Warm Audio WA-CX12 Professional Large-Diaphragm Tube Microphone

Only about 2,500 of the original Austrian C12 tube microphones were built between 1953 and 1963, and their open, airy balance has been heard on records from The Beatles to Taylor Swift ever since. The Warm Audio WA-CX12 is an exacting recreation of that microphone, built around a custom edge-terminated, all-brass CK12-style capsule that reproduces the pleasing high-frequency lift and natural midrange of the original.

A premium 12AY7 vacuum tube and a custom TAB-Funkenwerk (AMI) USA output transformer complete the signal path, with premium capacitors throughout. Nine polar patterns selected from the external power supply, from cardioid through omnidirectional and figure-8 plus six intermediate patterns, make the WA-CX12 as useful on drum rooms, strings and ensembles as it is on lead vocals. Maximum SPL of 149 dB means it will not flinch at loud sources.

The microphone ships as a complete kit: a custom tweed carrying case, external grounded IEC power supply, a premium Gotham 5-meter 7-pin tube microphone cable, a wooden microphone box and a shockmount are all included, so the WA-CX12 is ready to record the day it arrives.
