A Richer Midrange and a Stronger Push
At the core of the AC15 sound is its EL84 power section, which introduces musical harmonics as the amplifier is pushed. The way the phase inverter distorts contributes to the signature VOX character, delivering a tone that is harmonically rich and dynamically expressive.
The Celestion Greenback speaker enhances this response with warmer mids and faster saturation. From clean tones to driven British roar, every nuance translates with clarity and touch sensitivity.
Custom Transformers and a Responsive Cabinet
A hand-wound output transformer reproduces the original midrange growl and harmonic layering that define the classic AC15 sound. The 12 mm birch ply cabinet construction delivers authentic resonance and projection.
The slightly looser low end and softer highs of the Greenback speaker complement the cabinet design, producing a tone that feels warm, bold, and easy to drive.
Two Channels One Classic Voice
- Normal Channel: Delivers warm and thick tones with a Bright switch for added clarity.
- Top Boost Channel: Classic VOX chime and drive with slightly tamed highs for greater control.
The BOOST switch increases gain and adds a rich midrange push, enhancing sustain and harmonic complexity. Whether played clean or driven hard, the amplifier remains expressive and responsive.
Lush Tube-Driven Spring Reverb
The onboard spring reverb is powered by its own dedicated tube circuit with a separate output transformer. This design ensures proper impedance and delivers a rich, present reverb that blends smoothly with your tone.
Reverb is controlled via Level and Tone knobs and can be footswitched for easy bypass during performance.
Transparent FX Loop for Modern Rigs

When not in use, the loop can be fully bypassed to maintain a direct signal path.
