The JBL Control 440CS/T is a high-impact, direct-radiating 8-inch in-ceiling subwoofer from the Control 400 Premium Coverage Series, featuring a built-in passive crossover network that enables seamless subwoofer-satellite integration with up to four Control 400 full-range ceiling speakers - covering 32 Hz to 300 Hz for powerful, room-filling low-end extension in commercial A/V installations.

Replacing the Control 40CS/T, the 440CS/T is designed for hospitality, retail, and architectural A/V applications where deep bass is required without visible floor or wall-mounted subwoofers. The built-in crossover routes low frequencies to the 8-inch long-excursion woofer while routing midrange and high frequencies to connected satellite speakers, eliminating the need for external crossover hardware.

Like all Control 400 Premium Coverage Series models, the speaker features JBL's redesigned terminal covers with top and side cable entry, captive hand-screw securing, and a reliable dogear design for a wide range of ceiling thicknesses. The full-face magnetic grille is paintable and includes an integrated safety tether. Safety ratings include UL 1480A, UL 2043, NFPA 90A, and NFPA 70 for plenum-rated environments.
