The Roland HandSonic HPD-20 delivers authentic hand percussion performance through a 10-inch playing surface with 13 velocity and pressure-sensitive silicone rubber pads, enabling expressive control over 850 onboard instruments powered by Roland's SuperNATURAL sound engine. The 200 preset kits organize sounds by genre and playing style, while users can import up to 500 WAV samples via USB flash drive for fully custom libraries.
Three independent multi-effects engines, each featuring 25 effect types, enable comprehensive sound shaping. A D-BEAM optical controller, Roll button, and Realtime Modify knob provide performance controllers for live expression. The HPD-20 sequences patterns with 15 Kit Chains, each supporting 50 steps.
