Proper overhang setup is important for improving tracking accuracy, reducing playback distortion, and helping the stylus follow the record groove more consistently from the outer edge to the inner grooves.

The cartridge alignment side also includes null points for four different alignment geometries: Baerwald, Stevenson, Löfgren B, and UNI-DIN.
