Pirastro 1BLS Obligato Viola String Set, 4/4 Medium

Pirastro Obligato Viola String Set, 4/4 Medium

The Pirastro Obligato Viola String Set supplies four medium-gauge strings for a 4/4 instrument. A steel-core, aluminum-wound A pairs with synthetic-core D, G, and C strings. Silver windings cover the D and G, while tungsten-silver wraps the C. All four have ball ends, with a removable ball on the A.

For advancing students, orchestral musicians, and chamber players choosing full size viola strings, this package supplies every note for a complete replacement. Musicians seeking a medium gauge viola set receive a defined combination of core and winding materials. Manufacturer article number 421021 identifies the envelope-packaged configuration, helping players match their preferred replacement when ordering for practice or performance.

The lower three strings use synthetic multifilament cores, formed from multiple fibers beneath their metal windings. The A uses steel construction and offers attachment flexibility through its removable ball. Check your instrument's string-length requirements and tailpiece hardware before installation. Pirastro lists the gauge as Mittel, meaning medium, and provides individual article numbers for each string when a single-note replacement is needed later.
