Both variants provide four M.2 SSD slots, dual 80Gb/s Thunderbolt 5 ports, and real-world RAID 0 transfer speeds up to 6622MB/s with compatible drives and host systems.
The Enclosure Only configuration gives experienced users the freedom to install their preferred compatible NVMe SSDs and select a separate storage-management solution. The SoftRAID configuration adds OWC software for creating and managing professional RAID arrays, making it ideal for buyers seeking an integrated four-slot NVMe RAID enclosure for video editing, media ingestion, photography, VFX, and data-intensive production.
Both variants accept M.2 2242 and 2280 NVMe SSDs and support up to 32TB using four compatible 8TB drives. Dual Thunderbolt ports enable host connectivity and daisy chaining with additional devices or enclosures. An aircraft-grade aluminum chassis and adaptive 40mm fan help maintain stable performance during sustained 12K RAW, 8K multicamera, rendering, and large-file transfer workflows.
