The Pirastro Universal No. 1 Violin E String is a wound steel replacement string for 4/4 violins, available with ball or loop ends. A coated carbon steel core and thin chrome steel winding support its whistle-reducing design. Three gauges offer distinct tensions while retaining the same materials and instrument size.

For violinists replacing an individual E, this universal design pairs with existing A, D, and G strings. Choose a ball-end violin E string or a loop-end replacement string to match your attachment hardware.
