Key Features

AX1800 Dual-Band Wi-Fi 6 Performance

Simultaneous 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wireless Networking

The TEW-W960DAP operates two wireless frequency bands simultaneously, allowing compatible devices to connect using either 2.4GHz or 5GHz networking.

Its Wi-Fi 6 architecture supports theoretical maximum transmission rates of 573 Mbps on 2.4GHz and 1201 Mbps on 5GHz. These bands provide flexibility when connecting equipment with different wireless capabilities.

The 2.4GHz band supports compatible legacy devices and applications where wireless signal penetration is important. The 5GHz band provides additional bandwidth for supported higher-speed networking applications.

Both wireless bands operate through integrated antennas, eliminating the need for external antenna connections.

OFDMA Wireless Technology

Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiple Access allows compatible Wi-Fi 6 devices to share wireless transmission resources more efficiently.

By allocating portions of a wireless channel to multiple clients, OFDMA improves resource utilization in environments where numerous devices communicate simultaneously.

This capability supports busy office networks, hotel guest rooms, classrooms, and other high-density wireless environments.

MU-MIMO Connectivity

Multi-User Multiple-Input Multiple-Output technology enables the access point to communicate with multiple compatible wireless clients using separate data streams.

MU-MIMO helps improve wireless efficiency when supported devices access shared network resources.

Combined with OFDMA and 1024-QAM modulation, the access point provides the wireless capabilities associated with the IEEE 802.11ax standard.

Integrated Dual-Band Antenna System

The access point incorporates four internal antennas for simultaneous dual-band operation.

Two antennas provide 2 dBi gain on the 2.4GHz band, while two additional antennas deliver 4 dBi gain on 5GHz.

This internal antenna configuration maintains the fixture's discreet appearance while providing wireless connectivity throughout supported indoor environments.

Discreet In-Wall Installation for Commercial Networks

Standard Single-Gang Wall Box Compatibility

The TRENDnet TEW-W960DAP is designed for installation in a standard single-gang wall box.

Its compact form factor allows the main networking components to sit within the wall box while the front panel remains accessible.

Included wall plates provide the mounting interface for a clean installation, making the device suitable for interior spaces where visible networking equipment should remain minimal.

Low-Profile Design

The access point features a white housing intended to complement common interior wall finishes.

Its integrated antennas and compact front panel eliminate the need for external antenna assemblies or a separate tabletop enclosure.

This design is especially useful in hospitality installations, meeting rooms, professional offices, and multiroom commercial networks.

Integrated Status Indicators

Front-panel LED indicators provide visual feedback about the access point's operating status and network connections.

An integrated LED on/off switch allows administrators to disable visible status lighting when a less noticeable installation is preferred.

A reset button provides local access to supported device recovery and configuration functions.

Gigabit Ethernet and Power over Ethernet

IEEE 802.3af PoE Input

The TEW-W960DAP receives operating power through its Ethernet connection using IEEE 802.3af Power over Ethernet technology.

A compatible PoE switch or injector supplies both electrical power and network data over a single Ethernet cable.

This installation method reduces the need for an additional power connection near the wall-mounted access point.

The manufacturer specifies maximum electrical power consumption of 8.54W.

Additional Gigabit LAN Connection

In addition to its Gigabit PoE input, the access point provides a second Gigabit Ethernet port for wired network connectivity.

This port supports 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet connections, allowing compatible wired devices to access the network through the installed access point.

The additional port is useful for equipment such as desktop computers, compatible media devices, and other Ethernet-enabled peripherals positioned near the wall installation.

Flexible Network Infrastructure Integration

The access point supports standard Gigabit Ethernet networking and IEEE 802.1Q VLAN functionality.

Its wired interface accommodates integration into compatible managed networking environments, including installations using PoE switches and centrally administered network infrastructure.
