Description

Palmer kyll Passive 2-Channel Line Isolation Box

Consumer devices, as well as many professional keyboards such as synthesisers and digital pianos as well as some small mixers have unbalanced outputs. In order to connect them to a professional sound system and to avoid interfering noise over long cable runs, balanced signal routing is needed. For this purpose, the Palmer kyll handles the necessary signal balancing.

Due to the galvanic isolation via a transformer, the kyll also eliminates ground loops. To do this, simply engage the ground lift switch. Devices that already have balanced outputs also benefit from this, since noise can occur even here. The Palmer kyll reliably eliminates hum and buzz.

The Palmer kyll is capable of very high levels. Compared to conventional line isolators for media applications, it can process much "hotter" input signals without unwanted distortion being audible: up to + 20 dBu! But the kyll can also process quieter signals without causing any sound alteration or noise, because it works purely passively with large isolating transformers. This makes the Palmer kyll extremely easy to use and fail-safe, as it requires neither batteries nor phantom power. Conveniently, the inputs are designed as combo sockets that accept jack or XLR connectors. Adapters are unnecessary! The balanced outputs are designed as professional XLR sockets.

The kyll line isolation box is a universal problem solver for eliminating humming ground loops. When connecting unbalanced equipment, the signal is simultaneously balanced. Whether at home, at lectures, in the rehearsal room, on stage, in clubs or at large events, the Palmer kyll ensures a clean sound without noise.
