The Turtle AV Downtown is a professional-grade Dolby Atmos and DTS:X encoder that converts immersive multichannel audio and video sources into discrete Dante network streams — ideal for theaters, stadiums, broadcast, and large-scale AV installations. With support for Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, Dolby Digital, DD+, and PCM audio formats up to 9.1 channels, Downtown delivers high-fidelity, network-ready immersive audio for modern AV-over-IP ecosystems.
Downtown accepts HDMI (including eARC/ARC) and optical inputs — allowing legacy players, set-top boxes, or modern media devices to feed immersive content into a Dante network. It outputs each channel as an independent Dante stream (with AES67 compatibility) for flexible routing, mixing, and distribution. For video passthrough, the HDMI input also supports up to 8K60 with HDR and Dolby Vision, and includes a loop-out for local monitoring or display — making it a powerful all-in-one AV endpoint.
Designed for reliability and redundancy, Downtown features dual Dante network ports with primary/secondary stream redundancy, dual-PoE power for failover protection, and a separate control network port. A stereo mix-down output option enables legacy systems, live-streaming rigs, or recording workflows to receive a stereo feed alongside full multichannel streams. Housed in a rack-mountable 1U metal chassis with a 5-year advance-replacement warranty, Downtown is engineered for long-term professional deployment in demanding environments.
