The Seymour Duncan APH-2B Slash bridge humbucker in gold is voiced to deliver the singing sustain, crunchy rhythm bite and vocal midrange associated with Slash’s most iconic Les Paul tones from his work with Guns N’ Roses, Velvet Revolver and his solo projects. Developed in close collaboration with Slash, this pickup is based on the classic Alnico 2 Pro design, refined to capture the feel and response of his legendary AFD-era Les Paul.
By tailoring the magnet wire and winding spec around an Alnico 2 bar magnet, this bridge humbucker pushes a stock Les Paul toward the familiar sustain, crunch and midrange character of Slash’s original Derrig Les Paul copy. Each Slash humbucker is hand built in Santa Barbara with a nickel silver baseplate, maple spacer, paper tape and wax-potted coils for reliability at stage volumes, so the pickup you install is the same style used in Slash’s own guitars.
Modern appointments such as Short Ear (SE) mounting legs and a 4-conductor cable make this APH-2B ready for a wide range of instruments and wiring schemes. From classic rock leads to thick, singing solos, this USA-designed and made bridge pickup is built to drop into your guitar and get you straight into Slash-inspired territory.
