Inside a windshield or blimp, the connector behind the microphone often decides whether everything fits. The CAXJ18LPF uses a Remote Audio low-profile XLR3 female at the mic end and a standard XLR3 male at the other, on an 18 in balanced cable.

The low-profile female turns the cable right at the back of the microphone to save length, and the standard male connects to a boom pole, transmitter or recorder. Eighteen inches gives room to route the cable neatly through a suspension mount.
