Right-angle female connectors keep the back of a shotgun microphone clear in a shock mount, and the CAXJ18RT puts one on an 18 in balanced jumper. The other end is a straight XLR3 male for the boom pole, transmitter or input.

The extra length over a 12 in jumper lets the cable route cleanly through a mount or along a pole section. Balanced wiring keeps the microphone signal clean all the way to the recorder or mixer.
