Remote Audio RMANK4 Rainman Boom Mic Rain Cover and Hood for Rycote Kit 4

Rain on a blimp sounds like a drum roll in the headphones, and the Rainman RMANK4 is designed to soften it. This boom mic rain cover fits over zeppelin style windscreens and is fitted for the Rycote Windshield Kit 4 and microphones 8.3 to 11 in long, such as the MKH 416, MKH 60, CMIT 5U, KMR 81 and CS-3e.

The Rainman is made of a soft, lightweight batting that does not absorb water or mat up when wet; rain drops slow down as they flow through and are channeled out the front, along the outside of the zeppelin style windscreen. The exterior is net material with sturdy stitching, and it is more acoustically transparent than traditional furry windshield covers.

Installation is quick: slide the Rainman on with the open end at the front of the microphone and close the Velcro slot. The redesigned version adds a stronger outer weather seal and a new, durable waterproof hood that is included for protection between takes. Use it without a furry cover; a stretchy sock type cover may be added underneath for extra wind protection.
