RF Venue Spectrum Recorder
The RF Venue Spectrum Recorder is a sophisticated device tailored for continuous monitoring of the UHF frequency band, which is primarily used for wireless audio transmission. This dedicated recorder ensures comprehensive RF spectrum analysis by initiating a new recording session upon activation and starting a fresh session every 24 hours. It efficiently scans the 400 to 700 MHz spectrum in 25 kHz increments every 20 seconds, providing real-time and detailed spectrum data.
Designed for both stand-alone and networked operations, the Spectrum Recorder offers versatility in various RF analysis scenarios. It calculates and stores average values of the preceding 30 scans every 10 minutes in CSV files, facilitating thorough data analysis. Additionally, it generates daily reports that include average, maximum, and dynamic frequency activity data, which are crucial for identifying frequency usage patterns and potential interference sources.
With a capacity to store up to 99 recording sessions, the Spectrum Recorder ensures extensive data retention before automatically overwriting the oldest data. For precise data management, it attempts to synchronize its internal clock with an online time server when connected to a network. If synchronization is successful, CSV filenames will include a timestamp in the format nn_xxx_yyyymmdd_hhmmss.csv. Otherwise, filenames will be in a simplified format: nn_xxx.csv.

What’s In The Box
- Spectrum Recorder
- UHF Wideband whip antenna
- 5V USB-C power supply with cable
Getting Started
- For stand-alone operation, attach the included antenna to the Spectrum Recorder’s RF input. For analyzing the RF environment of an existing system, connect the recorder to the system’s distribution output.
- For network operation, connect the Spectrum Recorder through a network cable to the LAN. The device can be powered via Power Over Ethernet (PoE), though it is not required for network operation.
- Connect power to the Spectrum Recorder using the included 5V supply through the USB-C port, or use PoE connected to the RJ45 Ethernet port. The device will start scanning and recording immediately. The Activity LED will blink once per second to indicate operation, and the Ready LED will light up when one or more CSV files are ready for retrieval.
