Large-Format 12K Cinematography

The URSA Cine 12K LF 100G features a large-format RGBW sensor with an effective imaging area of approximately 1.4 x 0.9 inches. Its 3:2 open-gate recording mode captures the available sensor area at 12,288 x 8040 pixels, allowing editors to reframe footage for multiple delivery formats.

The sensor supports full-width acquisition at 12K, 8K, and 4K resolutions without cropping the sensor's horizontal field of view. Additional 9K Super 35 modes accommodate compatible cinema lenses designed for smaller imaging formats.

An optical low-pass filter helps reduce moire patterns and aliasing when recording fine textures, fabrics, and LED video displays. Combined with Blackmagic RAW processing and 16 stops of dynamic range, the imaging system supports detailed color correction and high-resolution finishing.

100G Ethernet for SMPTE 2110 Live Production

The camera incorporates a 100Gb/s QSFP28 Ethernet connection for SMPTE 2110 video transmission and professional network integration. This connection supports IP video input and output, media management, remote camera control, and Blackmagic Cloud workflows.

For additional slow-motion flexibility, 8K and 4K widescreen recording modes support up to 224 fps. A dedicated 4.6K B4 crop mode supports up to 240 fps when using a separately available compatible B4 lens mount.

The optional B4 mounting system allows broadcast operators to use compatible servo-controlled zoom lenses. This makes the camera adaptable to sports production, live events, and high-speed replay workflows requiring precise lens control.

Blackmagic RAW Recording and Cloud Collaboration

Blackmagic RAW provides a recording workflow designed to preserve sensor information and production metadata. Camera settings, compatible lens data, white balance, digital slate information, and color adjustments can be stored with recorded footage.

The complete camera configurations include an 8TB Blackmagic Media Module for high-resolution acquisition. The Body Only configuration instead includes the Blackmagic Media Module CF, supporting separately available CFexpress Type B recording media.

Simultaneous H.264 proxy recording enables smaller editorial files to be generated during acquisition. Compatible Blackmagic Cloud workflows allow footage and proxies to be transferred for remote editorial collaboration.

Professional Monitoring and Camera Control

The URSA Cine 12K LF 100G incorporates two 5-inch LCD monitoring displays with 1920 x 1080 resolution and 1500-nit brightness. A separate camera status display provides recording information and system feedback.

Built-in monitoring tools include focus peaking, frame guides, histograms, exposure information, and production metadata displays. Assignable camera controls allow operators to customize access to frequently used functions.
