Behringer CAT is an analog synthesizer designed for sound design, music production, and modular synthesis environments. It enables musicians and producers to create analog tones using dual voltage-controlled oscillators and classic subtractive synthesis architecture. This makes it ideal for studio production, live performance, and modular synthesis setups where direct analog sound shaping is required.

The synthesizer uses a fully analog signal path with dedicated VCO, VCF, and VCA circuits that reproduce the design of the original CAT SRM II synthesizer. Multiple oscillator waveforms can be mixed simultaneously and modulated through several internal modulation sources. Additional modulation options, envelope generators, and an analog LFO provide detailed control over sound generation and shaping.

This configuration supports lead synthesis, bass generation, sound design, and modular integration. The instrument can operate in duophonic or paraphonic mode while also supporting polyphonic expansion through poly chain functionality. Its Eurorack compatibility allows the main module to be mounted in modular systems for expanded patching workflows.
