The Thypoch Simera-C 5-Lens Cine Kit gathers the core of the Simera-C full-frame cinema prime series into one aluminum hard case: the 21mm, 28mm, 35mm, 50mm and 75mm, every one of them opening to a fast, constant T1.5. Simera-C answers a very specific problem for modern crews - cinema cameras keep getting smaller while cinema lenses have not. Each prime weighs roughly 380-490 g depending on focal length and mount and measures under 90mm long, so a five-focal-length package that would normally demand a cart can travel in carry-on luggage and still work handheld, on a gimbal or on a drone.
Optically, the Simera-C primes are built for high-resolution full-frame acquisition. Aspherical, low-dispersion (ED) and high-refractive-index elements work together for clean chromatic aberration control across the frame - the 21mm alone stacks two aspherical, three low-dispersion and three high-refractive-index elements. Minimum focus is closer than you get from most rehoused or modified rangefinder glass: 0.23 m (about 9 inches) on the 21mm and 0.55 m on the 75mm, well inside the roughly 0.7 m floor of classic M-mount optics. A 16-blade iris stopping from T1.5 to T16 keeps out-of-focus highlights round through the aperture range, and the 43.2mm maximum image circle covers full frame while remaining usable on Super 35 and APS-C sensors.
For a working set, the real value is in the handling. All five Simera-C primes share a 210-degree focus throw, 0.8 MOD standard cine gearing on both the focus and iris rings, matched gear positions and dual metric/imperial focus scales, so a follow focus or wireless motor stays put on a lens swap. Filter threads are consistent too - M62 x 0.75 across the 21/28/35/50mm with a 67mm front, and M67 x 0.75 on the 75mm. Choose the native Sony E mount for direct mirrorless work, or the Leica M mount, which adapts to other mirrorless bodies with a standard M adapter and to ARRI cameras with an M-ARRI adapter. The complete set ships in a durable aluminum hard case sized to fit carry-on luggage, making this a genuinely compact full-frame cine kit for documentary, travel, commercial and narrative work.
