The Roland V-8HD HD Video Switcher is an eight-input HDMI live production switcher built for Full HD multi-camera events, presentations, streaming workflows, and portable productions. It combines eight HDMI video channels, three HDMI outputs, an integrated 4.3" multiview display, five-layer video composition, and an 18-channel digital audio mixer in one compact hardware console.

Production teams can mix cameras, computers, graphics sources, tablets, and other HDMI devices without relying on a computer for core switching. Inputs 7 and 8 add multi-format scaling for sources with different resolutions, while the dedicated AUX feed supports confidence monitors, recording feeds, or alternate program destinations. Sequencing, macros, preset memories, automatic switching, and a traditional T-bar provide multiple ways to manage fast-moving live productions.

The V-8HD supports resolutions through 1080p60 and processes video at 4:2:2, 8-bit quality. Its effects engine provides dual picture-in-picture layers, luminance and chroma keying, downstream keying, still-image playback, and transition effects. Current firmware also expands production control with Graphics Presenter, VenuSet, computer remote-control software, up to 24 preset memories, 100 macros, and a 1,000-step sequencer.
