AJA's FS4 combines a four-channel 2K/HD/SD frame synchronizer and up, down, cross-converter with a Single Channel Mode for 4K/UltraHD processing, all in a 1RU frame. In Four Channel Mode it does the work of four separate devices; in Single Channel Mode every processor combines for 4K/UltraHD productivity, serving trucks, studios, and facilities with mixed-format conversion needs.
I/O options for 4K/UltraHD include Quad 1.5G, Dual 3G, and Quad 3G, 6G, and 12G-SDI over coax, with optional fiber SFP modules for single link 12G connectivity. Enhanced Single Channel Mode outputs 4K/UltraHD and a down-converted 2K/HD/SD feed simultaneously, HDR metadata generation covers the SDI output VPID and HDMI HDR Infoframe per HDMI v2.0b/CTA-861-G, and audio processing offers a 272x208 matrix spanning AES, MADI, and embedded SDI.
