Atomos Shinobi 7 II 7-Inch 2800-Nit HDR Camera Monitor

The Atomos Shinobi 7 II is a 7" 2800-nit HDR touchscreen camera monitor designed for daylight-viewable video and photo production. It combines a 1920 x 1080 display with HDMI input and output, USB-C camera control, touch-to-focus support, 3D LUT monitoring, and professional exposure and focusing tools in a portable on-camera design.

Built for filmmakers, photographers, directors, camera assistants, and mobile production crews, the Shinobi 7 II displays more than 10 stops of dynamic range from compatible Log, PQ, and HLG signals. Its monitoring toolkit includes EL Zone, Atomos and ARRI false color, waveform, vectorscope, histogram, RGB parade, focus peaking, zebras, frame guides, anamorphic de-squeeze, and multiple zoom settings for precise on-set image evaluation.

Compatible cameras can be controlled through USB-C, allowing adjustment of aperture, ISO, white balance, shutter speed or angle, and supported focus functions from the touchscreen. The monitor accepts HDMI signals up to 4K30, supports on-device display calibration, and can operate from an NP-F battery, USB-C PD source, or optional battery eliminator for flexible field and studio power.

Key Features

2800-Nit Daylight-Viewable HDR Monitoring

The 7" display reaches a calibrated peak brightness of 2800 nits, making the Shinobi 7 II suitable for exterior camera work and other bright environments. It supports Rec.709, PQ, HLG, and numerous manufacturer Log formats while displaying more than 10 stops of dynamic range from supported HDR and Log signals.

Camera Control and Touch-to-Focus

USB-C connectivity enables control of compatible Canon, Fujifilm, Nikon, Panasonic, and Sony cameras. Supported functions include white balance, aperture, ISO, shutter speed or angle, camera overlays, record indication, and touch-to-focus. Compatible Z CAM E2-series cameras require an additional control cable.

Exposure, Focus, and Framing Tools

The Shinobi 7 II provides EL Zone exposure visualization alongside Atomos false color and ARRI false color. Waveform, vectorscope, histogram, RGB parade, focus peaking, zebras, pixel mapping, zoom, safe areas, grid markers, and cine and social frame guides give camera crews a comprehensive toolset for evaluating an image before recording.

Anamorphic and LUT Workflows

Anamorphic de-squeeze settings include 2x, 1.8x, 1.79x, 1.65x, 1.6x, 1.5x, 1.33x, and 1.25x options. Custom .Cube LUTs can be loaded through the SD card slot, while supported monitoring modes include SDR Native, HDR HLG, HDR PQ, Rec.709 LUT, and User LUT operation.

On-Device Display Calibration

The Shinobi 7 II supports direct display calibration with compatible third-party calibration probes, reducing the need to connect the monitor to a separate computer during calibration. It can also work with the Atomos Calibrator application and supported calibration hardware for ongoing Rec.709 and HDR display maintenance.

Flexible On-Camera Power and Mounting

A rear NP-F/L-Series battery mount supports mobile operation, while USB-C Power Delivery provides continuous external power. An optional battery eliminator provides another DC power option. Anti-rotation 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 mounting points support integration with camera rigs, monitor arms, and related production hardware.
