AudioControl ACP-HYPE-APR-16 Hyperion 16-Channel Immersive Pre-Amp Processor

The AudioControl Hyperion APR-16 is a reference-grade immersive sound pre-amplifier processor built for large-format private cinema and critical listening rooms. It decodes Dolby Atmos and DTS:X across sixteen discrete channels, feeding sixteen balanced XLR and sixteen unbalanced RCA outputs so an installer can drive any combination of bed, height and surround amplification without external routing. Every output stage runs through ESS SABRE Hyperstream IV ES9039Q2M 32-bit conversion, delivering measured distortion below 0.0002% THD+N and a 122 dB signal-to-noise ratio.

Room correction is handled by Dirac Live with Bass Control and Active Room Treatment, letting the processor resolve modal problems and multi-subwoofer timing that passive treatment alone cannot. The video path is fully current: seven HDMI 2.1 inputs and an eARC output support 48 Gbps bandwidth, 4K120 and 8K60, HDCP 2.3, Dolby Vision, HDR10+, HLG and VRR, so the APR-16 sits transparently between modern sources and displays.

Networked installations are served by an onboard four-port Ethernet switch with Dante and AES67 transport (two channels in, two out), and the unit is configured entirely through a browser-based GUI. The APR-16 is HAA Link and ISF certified and meets all twenty-one CEDIA/CTA-RP22 performance benchmarks. AudioControl sells this platform as a dealer-installed product; setup and calibration are expected to be performed by a trained integrator.
