In mono, Gate/Pan produces abrupt volume changes for a gated, slicer-like effect; through stereo outputs, the modulation moves between left and right channels for a rotating spatial effect. Momentary mode lets players introduce flanging precisely within a phrase.

Independent Guitar and Bass inputs adapt the BF-3 to either instrument, and dual outputs support mono or stereo pedalboard systems. Rate, Depth, Resonance/Manual, and Mode controls provide direct access to the sweep behavior, while pedal-based tap tempo synchronizes the effect with a performance. Buffered bypass, standard 9 V battery operation, and optional PSA-series power make the BF-3 suitable for stage and studio rigs.
