The BOSS BP-1W Waza Craft Booster/Preamp Pedal is an all-analog guitar boost and preamp with three selectable voices. CE and RE modes recreate the preamp characteristics of the BOSS CE-1 Chorus Ensemble and Roland RE-201 Space Echo, while NAT provides a clean boost with minimal tonal coloration.

CE mode emphasizes a bright response with a tight low end, while RE mode adds warmth, body, saturation, and analog compression as Gain increases. NAT suits players who want to raise signal level without substantially changing the guitar's character. Independent Gain and Level controls also let the BP-1W push downstream pedals or amplifier inputs for additional drive.

A rear-panel buffer switch provides Standard and Vintage input characteristics. Standard maintains a 1 MOhm input impedance when the effect is active, while Vintage lowers it to 100 kOhm for a warmer response, particularly with passive pickups. The standard buffer remains active during bypass, and the Japan-made Waza Craft design uses dedicated analog circuitry throughout.
