The BOSS IR-2 Amp & Cabinet Simulator Pedal combines 11 guitar amplifier models with matched Celestion Digital cabinet impulse responses (IRs) in a compact stompbox. It supports direct recording, PA connection, headphone practice, custom IR loading, stereo output, and 32-bit floating-point processing at a 96 kHz sampling rate.

Guitarists can build two separate amp-and-cab sounds and switch between them from the onboard pedal or an optional external footswitch. A mono/stereo effects loop places modulation, delay, and reverb pedals after the amplifier emulation, while dedicated Gain, three-band EQ, Level, and Ambience controls provide fast sound shaping without menu navigation.

USB-C provides direct audio recording and playback with compatible computers and mobile devices while also supporting the dedicated IR Loader application. Eleven cabinet locations accept compatible custom WAV impulse responses, and the amp and cabinet sections can operate independently. Buffered bypass, stereo outputs, and a headphone connection support pedalboards, silent practice, recording rigs, and direct live performance.
