Description
BOSS NS-1X Noise Suppressor and Gate Pedal
The BOSS NS-1X Noise Suppressor and Gate Pedal uses Multi-Dimensional Processing, or MDP, to reduce unwanted noise while preserving natural attack, sustain, and playing response. Three operating modes provide general-purpose noise reduction, fast gating for high-gain playing, and convenient output muting for instrument changes, tuning, and performance breaks.
Designed for guitar, bass, extended-range instruments, keyboards, and other electronic instruments, the NS-1X adapts to a wide range of stage, studio, and practice rigs. Reduction mode suits players seeking a transparent noise suppressor pedal for guitar or bass, while Gate mode provides rapid response for precise high-gain riffs. Threshold, Decay, and Damp controls allow detailed adjustment for different instruments and playing styles.
The integrated send and return connections let players place noisy overdrive, distortion, and other effects inside the suppression loop for more effective pedalboard noise management. The NS-1X processes audio at 48 kHz with 24-bit A/D conversion, 32-bit D/A conversion, and 32-bit floating-point processing. Buffered bypass, DC power input and output connections, and battery operation support flexible professional pedalboard configurations.
Key Features
- MDP Noise Processing: Analyzes the incoming signal in real time to reduce unwanted noise while maintaining natural playing response.
- Three Operating Modes: Choose Reduction, Gate, or Mute operation to suit different instruments, gain structures, and performance needs.
- Reduction Mode: Provides controlled noise suppression with natural note decay for general stage, studio, and practice applications.
- Gate Mode: Delivers rapid signal cutoff for tight high-gain riffs and playing techniques that require precise attack.
- Adjustable Response: Threshold, Decay, and Damp controls provide detailed control over suppression behavior and signal transitions.
- Effects Loop: Dedicated Send and Return connections allow noise-generating pedals to operate within the suppression circuit.
- Instrument Versatility: Supports guitar, bass, extended-range instruments, keyboards, and other electronic musical instruments.
- Pedalboard Power Support: Provides DC IN and DC OUT connections for compatible BOSS pedalboard power configurations.
