The JBL Control 447HC is a 6.5-inch two-way coaxial ceiling loudspeaker from the Control 400 Premium Coverage Series, featuring JBL's conical Radiation Boundary Integrator (RBI) with a focused 85-degree narrow coverage pattern - engineered specifically for highly reverberant spaces and high-ceiling applications where broad-dispersion speakers create intelligibility problems.
Replacing the Control 47HC, the 447HC enables A/V designers to maintain intelligible, low-reverb audio in architecturally challenging spaces including atriums, airport terminals, train stations, gymnasium facilities, and large-format retail environments with ceilings above 15 feet. The focused 85-degree conical RBI pattern concentrates output toward listeners and away from reflective surfaces.
Like all Control 400 Premium Coverage Series models, the speaker features JBL's redesigned terminal covers with top and side cable entry, captive hand-screw securing, and a reliable dogear design for a wide range of ceiling thicknesses. The full-face magnetic grille is paintable and includes an integrated safety tether. Safety ratings include UL 1480A, UL 2043, NFPA 90A, and NFPA 70 for plenum-rated environments.
