JICO J-AAC0824 ALFA MODEL Replacement Stylus for 44-Series Cartridges

A fresh needle for the JICO ALFA MODEL cartridge, the J-AAC0824 is the manufacturer's own replacement stylus, built in Japan to the same specification as the one the cartridge ships with. The ALFA MODEL is JICO's gentler, listening-oriented spin on the 44-series platform, and this stylus carries that character: a synthetic diamond 0.7 mil tip mounted on an aluminum tubular cantilever, tuned to track at a light 1.3 to 1.7 grams instead of the heavy settings used by scratch styli.

With the stylus fitted, the ALFA MODEL cartridge delivers 5.0 to 8.0 mV of output into a standard 47 kilohm load and spans the full 20 Hz to 20 kHz range, so it works with any moving magnet phono stage or DJ mixer. The low tracking force is easier on record grooves over long sessions, which makes this the stylus to reach for when a 44-series cartridge is doing home listening or booth monitoring duty rather than battle scratching.

Because the ALFA MODEL stylus uses the 44-series mount, it is also compatible with other JICO 44-series bodies and the Shure M44 family, offering those cartridges a lighter-tracking, hi-fi leaning alternative. Installation is a simple press fit: slide the worn stylus out, seat the new one, reset the counterweight to about 1.5 grams and the cartridge is back in service.
