JICO J-AAC0869 CRCP MK1 Replacement Stylus for Clipper Cartridge

Keep a JICO Clipper performing like new with the CRCP/MK1, the exact stylus the cartridge ships with. Rather than retiring the whole cartridge when the needle wears, Clipper owners simply slide out the old stylus assembly and press in this replacement, restoring the solid natural diamond conical tip and JICO's tapered S-cantilever that define the Clipper's clean, relaxed hi-fi character. Like every JICO stylus, the CRCP/MK1 is handcrafted in Japan by a company that has been making needles since 1873.

The 0.12 mm conical diamond is a nude, solid stone rather than a bonded chip, which keeps tip mass low for accurate tracking of fine groove detail, and the tapered aluminum cantilever adds stiffness without weight. JICO recommends a tracking force of about 2.0 grams, give or take 0.2 g, with the Clipper body; set the counterweight accordingly and the stylus will deliver the cartridge's 20 Hz to 20 kHz response and 5.0 to 8.0 mV output into any standard MM phono input.

Because the Clipper shares the 44-series stylus mount, the CRCP/MK1 is also compatible with JICO J44 cartridges and the classic Shure M44 series, giving those bodies a true hi-fi listening stylus. It is a sensible spare to keep on the shelf for any Clipper, and a straightforward upgrade path for a well-loved M44 that deserves better than a DJ needle for evening listening.
