Busy desktops with IP or PBX telephones get a professional, affordable interview station in the JK Audio Universal Host. This desktop digital hybrid connects between the telephone handset and base, delivering talk-show quality caller audio from most telephone systems without needing an analog line.

Connections for a microphone, headphones, mixer, sound card, and handset are provided. The balanced XLR output carries only the caller, the stereo output splits your voice and the caller onto separate channels, and the DSP echo canceller typically exceeds 50 dB of separation. A handset selector matches electret, carbon, or dynamic handsets.

A built-in 16-bit USB audio codec records in stereo at up to 48 kHz with the talent voice at full bandwidth on the left and the caller on the right, and plays computer audio straight into the call. A second switch selects monitoring the caller or the USB codec in the headphones, and the canceller also suits PA-to-phone conference rooms.
