Juice Goose CQ1515-RX Rackmount AC Power Sequencing Surge Protector
Introducing the CQ 1515-RX: Reliable AC Power Sequencing with Surge Protection and Filtration
The CQ 1515-RX provides reliable AC power sequencing with superior RX Series surge protection and filtration. This product includes the necessary circuitry for coordinated activation and plug-and-play integration with other CQ Series models or RC Series accessories. All power up and power down sequences are conducted automatically, with commands passed between CQ Series units.
The CQ 1515-RX is a single-space rack mount device featuring seven AC power outputs at the rear of the chassis with a combined rating of 15 amps. One output is unswitched, while the remaining six outputs are grouped into three Power Pods, each containing two outputs. Each Power Pod is an independent sequence event, and all outputs feature premium RX Series surge protection and line noise filtration.
Thanks to its self-contained sequencing circuit, the CQ 1515-RX can serve as the master or slave in a power sequencing system. The unit's Signal Input and/or Signal Output connectors can be linked with other CQ or control devices using an eight-wire RJ-45 cable.
Real-time monitoring of sequencing functions is provided by LEDs located on the front of the chassis. Individual LEDs light when power is applied to its power pod.
Proven Power Protection
The effectiveness of the power protection circuitry contained in the CQ 1515-RX and other RX Series-based products has been proven through published test results. This RX power protection technology is particularly valuable because it works against both common mode and normal mode events.
While it protects against dramatic surge events of up to 6,000 volts at 3,000 amps on hot and neutral (normal mode), it also limits ground line (common mode) surges to one-half (0.50) volt to prevent operating faults of digital processing equipment.
Power protection circuitry in the CQ 1515-RX includes a differential transformer, lots of filtering capacitance, and control circuitry providing protection from dangerous surges, high-frequency interference, building wiring faults, and overvoltage. RX technology is proven to deliver protection comparable to an isolation transformer.
LED Function
A blue/red flashing Processor LED indicates the continuing operation of the circuit and logic that controls and drives the sequencer while protected from power line surges between line and neutral. In the unlikely event of failure of the RX protection circuitry, the Processor LED on the front of the CQ will blink red.
Processor LED Function:
Blue/Red Flashing = Sequencer and Surge Protection OK
Blinking Red = Sequencer OK, Surge Protection Failure
Solid Blue or Off = Sequencer Failure
  Sequence Timing Adjustment
Standard delay time between sequence up and sequence down events for CQ Series products is two seconds. However, the CQ 1515 allows for timing customization by adjusting the position of two DIP switches located on the main control circuit board. Timing options include 2 seconds (standard), 10 seconds, 20 seconds, and 30 seconds. Detailed instructions are included in the CQ Series Manual.
