The Laowa 12mm f/2.8 Lite Zero-D FF is an ultra-wide-angle prime lens engineered specifically for full-frame Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras. It pairs a dramatic 122° angle of view with Venus Optics' acclaimed Zero-D (zero-distortion) optical design, rendering straight lines straight from edge to edge. That combination makes it a natural choice for landscape, architectural, interior, and real-estate work where sweeping perspective must stay geometrically clean.
A bright f/2.8 maximum aperture lets the 12mm gather light for astrophotography, low-light interiors, and night cityscapes, while still offering depth control when you want it. The optical formula uses 16 elements in 9 groups, and a 5-blade diaphragm shapes light into distinctive 10-point sunstars around bright points and the sun. Built-in autofocus brings fast, accurate focusing to Laowa's wide-angle line, a welcome upgrade for hybrid shooters who move between stills and video.
Despite its full-frame coverage and fast aperture, the lens stays remarkably compact and lightweight at roughly 377 g, making it easy to carry on travel and long shoots.
