The Lastolite LL LR3528 is the Mini 18 inch (45 cm) member of the TriGrip family, a two-sided collapsible reflector with a Sunlite surface on one face and Soft Silver on the other. Instead of the traditional round shape, the TriGrip uses a triangular frame that is noticeably stronger and more stable in the hand, and it is built around an integrated moulded grip so the whole panel can be aimed with one hand. That leaves your other hand free for the camera, which is exactly why the TriGrip has become a standard piece of kit for portrait, wedding, headshot and small-crew video shooters working without an assistant.

Having two different surfaces on a single panel means fewer pieces of gear in the bag. The Sunlite side pushes a warm, sunlit quality of fill into a face or product, while the Soft Silver side delivers a crisper, cleaner bounce with more punch than plain white. Because the reflector is steered by hand rather than clamped to a stand, light can be placed into awkward spots such as under the chin or into deep shadow that previously needed a stand and bracket to reach. A securing strap lets you support the panel without gripping the handle at all, which takes the strain off your wrist and fingers over a long session.

At 18 inches the Mini TriGrip is the most portable size in the range, folding down into a supplied fabric bag roughly 12 inches across and under 2 inches thick, and weighing about a pound packed. It is an easy addition to a camera bag for on-location portraits, real estate and product work, interviews and event coverage, and it can be stand-mounted when needed using the optional Lastolite TriGrip Bracket (LL LA2430).
