OM System M.Zuiko Digital ED 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 EZ Pancake Zoom Lens, Silver

Pair a silver Micro Four Thirds body with a lens that matches both its finish and its spirit. This silver EZ pancake zoom measures only 22.5 mm when collapsed and weighs 93 g, keeping a PEN or OM-D camera small enough for a handbag or coat pocket. It keeps the whole kit light enough that you will actually carry it on day trips, holidays and nights out.

Switch on and the electronic zoom extends the lens for you, ready to cover 14-42mm, or 28-84mm in 35mm terms. That span takes you from sweeping cityscapes and interiors at the wide end to relaxed portraits at the long end, while 0.2 m close focusing opens the door to food, flowers and other small details.

Image quality comes from an 8-element, 7-group optical formula with three aspherical elements, an aspherical ED element and a Super HR element. MSC autofocus keeps focusing fast and quiet, and the smooth motorized zoom produces steady focal-length transitions in video, making this a versatile everyday and travel lens. A compact 37mm filter thread rounds out a lens that is easy to live with every day.
