Image quality comes from a 20.4MP Live MOS sensor paired with TruePic IX processing, while 5-axis stabilization rated up to 7.5 EV steps with Sync IS makes tripod-free shooting realistic in low light. The 121-point cross-type phase-detection AF, Pro Capture bursts and Starry Sky AF cover everything from wildlife to night skies. The 2.36M-dot OLED viewfinder and 3.0-inch vari-angle touchscreen make composing comfortable from any angle.

Computational photography is one press away thanks to the CP button: Live ND smooths waterfalls without filters, Handheld High Res Shot creates 50MP files, and Focus Stacking extends depth of field for macro. C4K/4K video with OM-Log400 and vertical recording rounds out a versatile, travel-ready body. Shutter speeds reach 1/8000 sec mechanically and 1/32000 sec in silent mode for bright conditions or discreet shooting.
