Description
Nudibranchs, shrimp and coral polyps reward a true macro lens, and this port is how the M.Zuiko Digital ED 60mm f/2.8 Macro and 30mm f/3.5 Macro go diving. The PPO-EP03 is the dedicated macro port for Olympus OM-D housings such as the PT-EP11 (E-M1) and PT-EP14 (E-M1 Mark II), rated to 60 m (197 ft).
Its flat port glass carries an anti-reflective coating on both sides to suppress flare and ghosting, and the tapered front end leaves room for strobes and focus lights to be angled in close to the subject. The lightweight polycarbonate body keeps the rig easy to handle on long macro dives.
Manual focus control is handled through a focus gear sold separately: choose the PPZR-EP03 or PPZR-EP07 to match the lens in use. A lens cap and rear cap protect the port when it is off the housing, and an O-ring and silicone grease are supplied for sealing it to the housing. At around 330 g it adds little weight to a macro rig, leaving buoyancy budget for strobes and focus lights.
