OM System WS-882 Stereo Digital Voice Recorder, 4GB, Silver

Lectures, interviews, meetings and quick personal notes all land clearly on the WS-882, a pocket stereo recorder that is simple enough for first-time users yet flexible enough for students and working professionals. Two low-noise directional microphones set at 90 degrees capture natural stereo, and a low-cut filter trims air-conditioner and projector rumble below 300 Hz.

Recordings go to 4 GB of internal memory, good for up to 1,040 hours in the longest MP3 mode, with a microSD slot for up to 32 GB more. A USB plug is built right into the body, so files transfer to a Windows or Mac computer without hunting for a cable, and the recorder can double as a USB storage device.

Playback tools include calendar search, voice balancer, noise-cancel, speed control from 50 to 200 percent and a voice-shadowing mode for language study. Scene presets, an intelligent auto mode and a Simple Mode keep operation easy, and two AAA cells deliver up to about 110 hours of recording.
