Pirastro 1FBS Flexocor Double Bass String Set, Steel Rope Core

Pirastro Flexocor Double Bass String Set

The Pirastro Flexocor Double Bass String Set uses high-tensile carbon steel rope cores wrapped with chrome steel. Designed especially for arco, or bowed playing, these strings combine a warm orchestral voice with quick response and short sustain. This 3/4-size set suits bassists seeking defined articulation and controlled note decay.

For musicians choosing a bowed double bass string set, Flexocor emphasizes the response and tonal character associated with classical ensemble playing. Its shorter sustain helps notes clear between phrases, while prompt bow engagement supports articulate passages. Players selecting a steel-core orchestral bass set can choose the tuning configuration that matches their setup.

Pirastro offers a medium-gauge orchestra set and a separate solo-tuning set for 3/4 instruments. The series supports stable tuning and readiness after installation. Ball-end attachments provide the specified tailpiece connection, and ruby tailpiece silk identifies the range. Select the appropriate tuning configuration carefully, since orchestra and solo versions use different pitches and manufacturer article numbers.
