Description
Pirastro Passione Solo Violin G String
The Pirastro Passione Solo Violin G String is a silver-wound sheep gut string for 4/4 violins. It comes in medium gauge with a ball-end attachment and a published tension of 10.1 pounds. This individual replacement lets players renew the G position while retaining their preferred upper strings.
Consider this silver-wound gut violin string when planning a replacement for practice, orchestral rehearsals, or solo repertoire. For a player maintaining an existing setup, buying an individual G allows a focused replacement without purchasing a complete set. Teachers and instrument technicians can also specify the material, size, and gauge when helping a violinist select strings. Check these details against your current setup before ordering.
Pirastro prepares, winds, and polishes the gut core by hand. Brown/blue silk identifies the peg end, while white/brown identifies the tailpiece end. The manufacturer also gives this G a deliberately different peg-end silk length to accommodate stretching during installation. That construction detail helps players understand its initial fit as the string settles on the instrument.
