Pirastro 1PBS Permanent Double Bass String Set, 3/4 Medium Orchestra

Pirastro Permanent Double Bass String Set

The Pirastro Permanent Double Bass String Set uses high-tensile carbon steel rope cores for a clear, focused orchestral voice. This medium-gauge, 3/4-size configuration includes G, D, A, and E strings. Designed especially for arco, or bowed playing, the series emphasizes quick response, projection, and tonal volume.

For musicians selecting an orchestral replacement string set, Permanent supports ensemble repertoire and expressive solo passages. Its responsive construction suits players who want notes to speak promptly under the bow. Bassists choosing a steel-core set for classical performance can use this configuration for rehearsals, concert preparation, and demanding bowed programs.

Pirastro identifies the orchestra-tuning set as article 343020 and specifies a combined string tension of 275.1 lb. Ball-end attachments provide the tailpiece connection, while yellow orange/blue tailpiece silk identifies the series. The strings support stable tuning and readiness after installation. Check the article number when replacing a complete set to match the intended tuning and instrument size.
