Pirastro Eudoxa Violin G String, Silver-Wound Gut, 4/4 - 16.25

Pirastro Eudoxa Violin G String

The Pirastro Eudoxa Violin G String combines a sheep gut core with silver winding and a knot end for 4/4 violins. Choose from 15 1/4, 15 1/2, 15 3/4, and 16 1/4 PM gauges. Higher gauge numbers identify thicker strings with greater published playing tension, allowing players to select their preferred load.

For violinists seeking a silver-wound gut replacement, the range provides several tension choices around the manufacturer's 15 3/4 PM medium reference. Lower gauges reduce the published load, while higher gauges increase it. Choose a full-size G string by its numeric gauge when matching an existing setup, replacing a familiar string, or exploring a different tension.

Pirastro manufactures, winds, and polishes the gut core by hand in Germany. The Eudoxa family offers warmth, tonal complexity, and a comfortable feel for orchestral playing, chamber ensembles, and recording sessions. All four options retain the same core material, winding, size, and tailpiece attachment. Brown peg-end silk and white/violet tailpiece wrapping help identify the string during installation and replacement.
