Pirastro Evah Pirazzi Viola D String, Silver-Wound, 4/4 - Heavy

Pirastro Evah Pirazzi Viola D String

The Pirastro Evah Pirazzi Viola D String is a silver-wound replacement string for 4/4 violas, built around a synthetic multifilament core made from multiple fine fibers. Choose Light, Medium, or Heavy gauge to match your setup, with each version supplied in envelope packaging and fitted with a ball end.

For players buying a replacement viola D string, this listing groups three gauges under one product. Light carries the alternate names Weich and Dolce, Medium corresponds to Mittel, and Heavy uses Stark and Forte. These options let you select the tension you need while retaining the same core and winding materials.

When choosing silver-wound strings for viola, compare the individual specifications rather than relying on gauge names alone. Manufacturer-listed tension increases from 13.2 pounds for Light to 13.7 pounds for Medium and 14.1 pounds for Heavy. Use those figures alongside your current setup or a technician's guidance when selecting a gauge for your instrument.
