Pirastro Obligato Silver Violin D String - 4/4

Pirastro Obligato Silver Violin D String

The Pirastro Obligato Silver Violin D String is an individual replacement available in 4/4 and combined 3/4–1/2 sizes. Its synthetic multifilament core carries silver winding and a ball-end attachment. Select the size that matches your violin; each purchase supplies one D string for the third position on a standard four-string instrument.

The 4/4 option fits a full-size violin, while the shared 3/4–1/2 option serves those two fractional instrument sizes. Choose according to the violin's size designation when replacing a worn string or preparing a spare. Buying an individual replacement lets you maintain the D position without ordering an entire set for lessons, rehearsals, or performances.

Both sizes share the same core and winding materials. The manufacturer identifies medium-gauge envelope versions with separate article numbers, helping you distinguish the full-size replacement from its fractional counterpart. Check your chosen configuration before ordering, and confirm that your tailpiece or fine tuner accepts a ball-ended string. Keep the packaging information available to simplify matching future replacements.
